1. 禁教期间，澳门夷人自习其教不禁，居澳华民习教或内地民人入澳进教则被严行禁止，此时处于中国政府严格管治之下的澳葡，不仅不得向华人传播天主教，而且还曾奉命协助查拿潜入内地传教之西洋教士，在协助广东地方官员管理澳门西洋教士方面，也大都能够严格遵谕执行。
